Recently, the staff of San Antonio Community Hospital were paid a special visit by four lovely ladies. Seeing them alive and well, full of love and gratitude, giving hugs and kisses, and personally thanking you for literally saving their lives.... There were many moments when their faces were literally turning purple from lack of oxygen, pulses were fleeting, and we felt as if their days were numbered. But they fought hard for their own lives, as well as for their unborn child at that time. I was overwhelmed by this feeling of joy. I couldnt put it in perspective that these beautiful women standing in front of me were once unrecognizable when they were attached to tubes and machines. To see Shelly Anne and Ashley with their beautiful babies was the greatest feeling a nurse could ever have. Im blessed and grateful to be a part of their lives. I know I was a part of a special team of nurses and did things that other hospitals arent equipped nor trained to do.
