Recipe Time! Pumpkin Fries! These were a HIT with our family. I made 3 different kinds (Maple-Sriracha, Papa Joes & Pumpkin Pie) to test out which recipe was going to be the best to share with you but everyone said POST THEM ALL! I gotta say I was impressed too, they came out tastier than even sweet potato fries, my only regret was I didnt make these sooner!!! I used a sugar pie pumpkin, which is one of our small pumpkins. We have a few the stems broke off of, so I used that up & anyone who wants to make this we have a few more small pumpkins without the stem we will sell for 1/2 price so just ask when you are in! We always recommend when cooking a pumpkin to skip trying to cut it in half with a knife. Just get a plastic shopping bag, put the pumpkin in there tie it closed & take it outside & drop it hard on the pavement. It will bust it in half & then you can scoop the seeds & gunk out of the middle. I used a ice cream scooper but any spoon will do the trick. If you have a super strong veggie peeler you can peel the pumpkin, mine was not that strong so I cut the pumpkin in manageable pieces, used a knife to cut off the skin & sliced them into fry shapes. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Line baking sheets with parchment or tin foil, lightly grease. Place pumpkin fries in a bowl or gallon size plastic bag. Mix well with one of the following recipes for seasonings & place them in a single layer on the baking sheet bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown flipping them once during their cooking. *Note These measurements work for well for 1/2 or 1/3 of a small pumpkin worth of fries. So if you want to just try making 1, not all 3, double the seasoning recipe. It is also best to mix the seasoning mix together well before tossing them with the fries.
