Record Rambling number 100. The Amazing Adventures Of The - TopicsExpress

Record Rambling number 100. The Amazing Adventures Of The Liverpool Scene. The poetry of Adrian Henri and Mike Evans, mixed in with music by Andy Roberts, Mike Hart, Percy Jones and Brian Dobson. Prose perching on everything from jazz, folk, blues, with a sprinkling of psychedelic dust on top just to add the sparkle. This is weird and brilliant. Light and dark, serious and funny, pithy and punny. You might be split between the spoken words of The Amazing Adventures Of Che Guevara which has the missing leader pop up in all types of impossible situations and unlikely circumstances; in four parts spread over the whole LP. You might prefer the marriage of spoken poetry set to music such as the opener A Tramcar To Frankenstein . Or you might just like the music such as the wonderful Percy Parslows Hamster Farm a song about a real place, a real person (the king of hamsters) Take the hamster mans advice and never stroke the spiney mice. A mynah bird in a lofty cage, Speaks not a word in silent rage. Old ladies in Chinchilla coats come down to see the little farm. And say, amongst the dogs and goats How can man do small creatures harm? Its a gentle warm tale. Go google, I did, I would have visited, if only I knew, if only place like Percy Parslows Hamster Farm still existed. Perhaps they do. It all comes together for me on songs like Batpoem , the humour of Henri, the music of Roberts https://youtube/watch?v=m0GUbAImHuw
