Record snowfall in the Himalayas Dodrakawar cuts off from rest of world, heavy snowfall on high reaches The Dodrakawar area of this district got cut off from rest of world as the Chanshal pass that links it with road, experienced about 75 cm snowfall till last night as inclement weather was prevailing in the state for last three days. It brought more heavy snowfall on high reaches and rain in the down streams. Report arriving here said that Chanshal pass had 75 cm (2 & half feet) snowfall till last overnight. -Dhanrvari and Kitarwari villages of Dodra Kawar also got about 10 cm of snowfall. -Pandar mountain had 30 cm snowfall and Jakha mountain 15 cm snowfall, respectively. - The Gateway to Lahaul Spiti Rohtang Pass also experienced 45 cm fresh snowfall last night. High reaches of Manali recorded fresh spell of snowfall as Solangnala reported 12 cm snowfall. Merhi and high areas on the Rohtang also got 15 to 20 cm snowfall onsetting winter tourists seasons in the tourists resort. Commander of 38 task force of Border Road Organisations Yogesh Nair warned the people to not venture to cross the Rohatang Pass after the evening and before morning as it is slippery as well as risky to cross.
