Red Cross Opens Shelter For Wild Land Fire Evacuees Laramie, WY – 6:00 p.m., July 7, 2014 – The American Red Cross has opened a shelter forevacuated residents at the Harmony School, 20 Lewis Road in Laramie. Local Red Cross Volunteers are also in the process of opening a shelter at the Centennial School, 2771 Highway 130 in Centennial. The Owen Fire is now at 50 acres and growing. Evacuations have been ordered for Lake Owen Campground & Day-Use Area, as well as the north end of Fox Creek Road. FIre season is in full force in Wyoming, our local volunteers are on the ground and set up to help the residents effected,” said Traci Aguilar, Disaster Program Specialist for the Red Cross of Wyoming. “The shelters will be available until the residents are allowed back into their properties.
