Reflections on Day 1 of the 30 Clean challenge: The first day - TopicsExpress

Reflections on Day 1 of the 30 Clean challenge: The first day of anything new is always the hardest. You dont know what to expect and you are afraid of failure. I had to remind myself that Coke Zero wasnt going to find itself magically in my hand and I have the power and confidence to fight that craving if it appears. So far so good! What I ate: I started my day yesterday with a Fuji Apple before I taught my Cycle class at 6:15am. While heading to Group Interval Training had a hard boiled egg, 1/2 chicken breast, grapes and mixed greens. I do my workout at 11 taking a class with another trainer at GIT and had 6 almonds and an asian pear before. Once I got home I ate a zuchini, bellpepper and spinach egg white scramble with tomatoes and avocado. Before I ran out the door to do some work at USC I have 1/2 checken breast over carrots, spinach, cucumber, cracking cauliflower tomato and avocado. I drizzled a little blsamic on top. What has been difficult: I have to say the most difficult thing so far has been planning a preparing my meals. I realize now just in the first day of this challenge that I do a lot of easy eating in moments when I dont have time. Those easy eating items are chalk full of calories and preservatives. The problem is I am always on the go! Half the time I grabbed the easy eating item I didnt necessarily enjoy the taste because I am running. I can easily grab a healthy item and probably get more out of the experience. What has been surprisingly easy: I had no problem staying away from soda!!! Yay!! Its only day 1 so I will have to update you on this development. I am about to go Bartend so well see how I feel about this later. Ive been Craving veggies and getting excited about trying new things. Pintrest has become my new friend and Im excited to try out all of these great ideas! Day 1, 29 more to go.
