Regardless of the outcome of Bill 143... shame on the Ontario government for putting decent, hard working and caring home providers through so much STRESS! And shame on the media for painting all home providers with the same villian brush... I have heard so many comments lately online, in newspapers and on tv about shutting down illegal unlicensed care that I want to scream! The daycares we hear about on tv are ILLEGAL... this does NOT, by association, make all home daycares illegal!! Im tired of feeling like I have to defend what I do for a living to people or try to explain the absolute obsurdity of Bill 143. I have never, and will never do anything illegal with my daycare. I follow all the rules (yes, home daycare has always been regulated!) and I choose not to work for a private, for-profit licensed agency (thats right I CAN NOT obtain a license myself... its impossible!). For parents that are on this fb page... you guys are awesome. Thank you, thank you for supporting home care and know that we work hard each and every day to ensure your children have the best possible care. For other providers on this fb page... you guys are also awesome. Though we may not always agree, we are in this together. We are an intelligent, well-spoken and passionate group. Its a shame this Bill also pits us against each other... this is absolutely the governments intention... dont fall for it... support each other. Thanks to everyone on this page for making this AWFUL situation created by Bill 143 just a little less lonely... for providing information, support, opinions, arguments and even the silly stuff. Heres hoping the government wakes up and realizes Bill 143 will destroy one of the best, and most important jobs in this province!!!
