Reiki for Pets--Treating Injuries The best evidence we have that Reiki works is the almost miraculous results obtained from treating recent injuries. These results are equally impressive for both people and animals. When treating an animal with a recent injury, i.e., an injury that has just happened, you do not need to administer a full Reiki treatment. First, determine if the injury needs emergency veterinary care. If it does not, and you know that you can handle the situation at home, apply standard first aid, and follow with this simple Reiki protocol: 1.) Give Reiki directly to the injury. You may keep your hands above the body and not touch, if this is more comfortable to your pet. How long you stay in the position depends on how severe the injury is. A slight burn or bruise may require 10 or 15 minutes. A severe injury would need much more time. 2.) Release the memory of the injury from your pets body by treating the adrenal glands on the back. Follow the outline of the rib cage all the way to the spinal column. the adrenals will be superior to this point on both sides of the spine. Give Reiki to the adrenal glands to help release the memory of the injury from the body. Stay in this position until you feel the body relax and the adrenals release. Thanks for reading, Lourdes
