Religion - "A moral code believed to have a supernatural basis" ; & "Total organization of ones life based on a world view". & " A social group bond by the above" Myth - serves as the psychological soil from which other myths can flourish. A myth is an idea that while widely believed is false. In a deeper sense a myth serves as an orienting and mobilizing story for a people. The focus is not on the stories relation to reality but on its function. A story can not function unless it is believed to be true in the community or a nation. It is not a matter of debate if some people have the bad taste to raise the question of the truth of the sacred story. The keepers of the idea, or belief system, do not enter into debate with them they ignore them. Redirecting ones thought on them which debates. Which controls the crowd listening to the speaker. The debater if not prepared or educated, will have their thought, as well as the crowd, redirected from center, down the path of on man or one idea.
