Remember A&M’s barefooted placekicker Tony Franklin? He set the record for the longest collegiate field goal of 65 yards on October 16, 1976 against Baylor. He also kicked a 64-yard field goal in the same game and remains the only college player to kick two 60+ yard field goals in one game. During his four-year stay in College Station, Franklin helped lead the Ags to four straight bowl games – 1975 Liberty Bowl, 1977 Sun Bowl, 1977 Bluebonnet Bowl and 1978 Hall of Fame Bowl. Whoop!!!
