Reporters meet a lot of people. Its the best part of the job. Every now and then we meet someone who sticks with us; someone who means more to us than the 2 minutes of time he or she fills during a newscast. Obi Christenson was one of those people. I met Obi a couple of years ago. A family friend had asked Brett Favre to attend Obis upcoming fundraiser. Brett couldnt make it, but called Obi to wish him well. (Hes on the phone with Brett in the picture below) Obi didnt say much during my interview, but I couldnt help but fall for the kid. Our viewers did too. People from the La Crosse area, as well as those from across Wisconsin, sent me gifts to give to Obi. Even if I only got to spend a few minutes with him, it made my day-- even my week. Obi lost his battle with cancer early this morning. Everyone who knew Obi lost something too. Rest in peace Obi. You will be missed.
