Repost from Huff Post...I know Ive said this before and some agree and some dont. Thats ok. But its still an issue out there, so Ive got to repost this. A responder on Huff Post told me my benefits were not paid for... My response...quote on... Sorry, that was the deal. My benefits are ABSOLUTELY paid for. It WASNT voluntary. If you want to renege, try a buyout, grossed up for inflation. I paid in 30+ years. My wife paid in 30+ more. I want the benefits that we paid for over 60+ years...at net present value. And dont even start me on needs testing. Anything else is stealing. I dont hear anyone cutting subsidies for Exxon, bailouts for Goldman Sachs, Morgan, or AIG. I dont hear anyone complaining about offshore tax havens. I dont hear anyone cutting Ag subsidies, defense contractor subsidies, health insurance company subsidies. I dont hear anyone cutting 700+ military bases outside the US and we continue to spend as much on defense as the next 13 countries combined. The only thing anyone wants to cut is the benefits I paid for. Thats BS. The government has a financial obligation and needs to pay its bills. Period. When I get my credit card bill each month, I dont not pay it, I dont needs test whether Citigroup needs the money more than I do. And when women live ten years longer than men, stealing social security and medicare is yet another part of the war on women, and constitutes stealing from my wife after I am dead. Is there anything more slimy in the world than that? quote off 2 SECONDS AGO
