Residents looking to get rid of debris, dirt, bricks, blocks, rocks, wood, metals, car parts, brush and non-refrigerant appliances are invited to drop the items off at the city’s DPW facility Saturday, May 17 as part of the annual “Open Yard Day.” Participants will be required to show ID for the event, which runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the DPW facility located at 17800 10 Mile Road. Items not accepted include: hazardous materials such as fuel, fuel containers, paint, paint thinners, household cleaners, tires and radioactive materials such as smoke detectors.
