Return to Sudan Faith or Procrastination that is the question? And the answer is (drum roll) PROCRASTINATION. At our meeting last Sunday I found out that half of my funds WHERE due 09/05 and not 09/15 (which was cutting it close) as I thought..…OOPS. What an opportunity to grow my faith and experience grace. As I type “experience grace”, that defines what I have experienced as you have supported me by praying, donating and encouraging when I have raised funds in the past. Now it is time to raise support for my 4th annual trek to South Sudan. I am excited to be returning to a place that has a piece of my heart. Excited to see what God has done in the past year and participate with God so that others can “experience God’s Grace”. Back by popular demand is our fabulous dentist, Dr. Kerry Goad who provides much needed basic dental care and I hope that I get to spend some time being his lovely assistant (last year he even let me pull a tooth). All kidding aside though, this may be the first and only time some may get to see a dentist, and have an opportunity to have teeth pulled that are painful. God’s grace. And hopefully we will have a doctor and nurse who can hold clinics and treat what seems to us a minor thing, but could be the difference between life and death for them. And even better to train some of the church leaders there to administer basic health advice and medication long after we are gone. God’s grace. But most of all to share the love of Christ with others and offer the greatest expression of God’s grace, His desire to rescue and redeem us and be in relationship with us. To encourage, love, support and pray with those who live in this hard place and daily are pictures of God’s grace to hurting people.
