Returning Judgment Excuse me sir, I must return An article or two I’ll simply never use them Although Satan wants me to I have this robe and gavel Much used in days gone by When I concerned myself with specks Within my brother’s eye Now his eyes shine brightly Washed clean before the throne While I sit tweezing splinters From the board within my own I’ve criticized and whispered Time now to face God’s test Judged by the very measures That I used to judge the rest God knows I’ll never measure up My heart will come up short If only I had loved in truth Not as a last resort So put these items on your shelf Beside your sticks and stones I’ll leave the judging to the God Who forms dust into bones a.k.
