Reviewing very old notes on dating. Teaching these things, added some thoughts. How to GIVE love, Not how to GET love. 1. Teen years are too often a frivolous definition of fun. Dating, Gods way, with Christ in the center, prepares for marriage. 2. It is easier to restrain acts, if you restrain your thoughts. 3. Root causes of teen promiscuity are lack of restraints in thought and action. 4. Start at a higher level than when the thought occurs...way before! 5. Guard your heart. 6. Girls relationship with father is important. This needs to be restored when possible! (For me, it was absent=TROUBLE.) BUT Gods Fatherhood is perfect! 7. Teens need to do things for someone other than themselves. Serve. Shifts focus. We are taught that teens are incapable of restraint. God tells us otherwise in His Word. My prayer is that parents will not allow teens to develop a process of bad habits that create psychological and emotional scars. Prayer is key. Christs blood covers all sin. We are forgiven when we ask. But isnt it better to just be able to thank Him for protection against scars?
