Revolting Against Oppressive Rulers is Forbidden - Story of Hajaj Bin Yusuf Ath-Thaqafee From Readings in Elementary Qutubism Narrated By Brother Daawood Adeeb - Prepared by SalafiPublications.Com THIS SECT had influence on Islamic insurgent/terror groups in Egypt and elsewhere!! Sayyid Qutb has had influence on Al-Qaeda as was felt through his writing, his followers and especially through his brother, Muhammad Qutb, who edited, published and promoted his brother Sayyid Qutbs works. One of Muhammad Qutbs students and later an ardent follower was Ayman Zawahiri, who went on to become a member of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad terror group and later a mentor of Usama bin Laden and a leading member of al-Qaeda. Zawahiri was first introduced to Qutb by his uncle and maternal family patriarch, Mafouz Azzam, who was very close to Qutb throughout his life. Azzam was Qutbs student, then protégé, then personal lawyer and executor of his estate -- one of the last people to see Qutb before his execution. Zawahiri paid homage to Qutb in his work Knights under the Prophets Banner. Also Usama Bin Laden was also acquainted with Qutb. A close college friend of bin Ladens, Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, said that bin Laden regularly attended weekly public lectures by Muhammad Qutb. NOTE: Qutubism: The thought and ideology of Sayyid Qutb as found in his most popular works such as Maaalim fit-Tareeq (Milestones) his Tafsir of the Quran az-Zilaal, al-Adaalah al-Ijtimaaiyyah (Social Justice) and others. NOTE: Qutubiyyah, Qutubiyyoon: The sect known as the Qutubis. NOTE: Qutubi, Qutubist: A person who subscribes to the thought and ideology of Qutubism. Different extremes exist as to the degree and extent that a Qutubi subscribes to the thought and ideology of Qutubism. NOTE: Sayyid Qutb - More of a literary writer than scholar, Sayyid Qutb made very many serious mistakes in creed and introduced ideas that have led to the birth of destructive political movements.
