Robin Williams comitted suicide. Some of the funniest people in the world use comedy as a way to mask the tragedy that has perpetuated their lives.Freddie Prinze Jr. (Chico & the Man) shot himself in the head in the late 70s, John Belushi, Mitch Hedberg, Lenny Bruce and two of my all time favorites Greg Geraldo & Chris Farley all died from drug overdoses. And in 1989 Richard Jenni also died from a self inflicted gun shot wound. Just like the Italian opera Pagliacci, the clown who was laughing on the outside and crying on the inside. It is realy tough to see, but depression / mental illness is no joking matter. Just because someone is always the life of the party on the outside, its not always that way behind closed doors. Today is a sad day for comedy and the world.
