Rockaway Civic Assoc Meeting, Thursday October 30th, to provide an update on the Phase III, Boardwalk Reconstruction Project. The meeting will take place at Martin des Porres School on Beach 111th Street, at 7 p.m. At the October 14 Community Board meeting a vote was taken on the Phase III Access Design. The design was approved and now moves forward. With this hurdle behind us, NYEDC will make every effort to bring the project in alignment with their original timeline. It was a bit derailed because of efforts to create a design that would accommodate community concerns. To view the presentation/proposed design click here. RockawayCivic Rockaway Civic has now arranged a presentation by SKANSKA (construction Firm) & Ocean Coastal (engineering consultants) regarding construction and pre-construction surveys for the Phase III portion of our boardwalk reconstruction. We encourage you to attend & spread the word about the meeting. The presentation will address construction schedule, effects on beach access during construction, and pre-inspection surveys for properties in close proximity to the construction zone. For buildings abutting the boardwalk – attached is a pre-inspection survey which Ocean Coastal (engineering consultants) would like completed. Additionally, we have created flyers (attached) regarding the meeting and need assistance in distribution.
