Rodney tells Chriss Story - Country Roads Need Safer Drivers Rodney Maynard was a teammate of Chris at the Lameroo Hawks. During the week, Chris worked carting sheep on a stock crate, often travelling long distances at night just so he could make it to the footy games on the weekend. On 17 May 2010, on the way to Bendigo in Victoria, Chriss truck crashed into a tree on the side of the road. He died at the scene. Since that accident, the Lameroo Hawks Football Club has made road safety education a priority throughout their community. Rodney has been a Crows, SANFL and SACFL player.
