Romans 15:28, Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. A few years ago, my wife and I went to the Grand Canyon. We were willing to make the eight hour drive and incur the cost because we believed the destination was worth the effort. The next year we went to Washington D.C., and again it took effort and sacrifice but we willing to endure those things because we were excited to see our nations capital. The year after that we drove the six hours to Mammoth Mountain and spent the night there, then drove on to Yosemite National Park. It was worth all of the effort to see Gods amazing creation. In todays verse we see that it was the Apostle Pauls desire to go to the end of the known world (Spain) to share the gospel. This would require great sacrifice, and a lot of effort at great personal risk because traveling in those days was very dangerous. This was something that Paul was willing to do and even had a passion to do it because he realized the effort would be well worth it. This trip was worth Pauls efforts because he knew that the value of the gospel preached to those who have not heard it. How far are you willing to go? How much effort are you willing to give, and what are you willing to sacrifice so that someone would hear Gods message of salvation? You may not experience the serenity of a vacation but you will realize the power of God and the Joy of the Lord. Proverbs 19:21, There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel—that will stand.
