Ronald de Boer believes Louis van Gaal would be an ideal candidate to take over from David Moyes as Manchester United manager. Van Gaal will not carry on as Holland’s manager after the 2014 World Cup and has admitted he wants to manage in the Premier League, which has led to the speculation about him and the United job. The 62-year-old has been singled out as a potential replacement should Moyes’ tenure as United manager end prematurely and De Boer, who worked underneath Van Gaal at both Ajax and Barcelona, feels he would bring guaranteed success to Old Trafford. “If I was on the board at Tottenham or Man United I would definitely take him,” he told talkSPORT. “He’s one of the best coaches in the world. Everywhere he’s gone, he’s had success. “He’s influential at a club even when he’s left. He sets up really good structures, so you have a great foundation for years. “Van Gaal is like Jose Mourinho, there’s always something going on. It’s great for the press because there’s always a lot of talk about. “It would be exciting to have a coach like Van Gaal in the Premier League.” Moyes is under real pressure in the remaining games of this season to show that he has the credentials to manage a team like United because so far, he has looked completely out of his depth. If he isn’t able to show any signs of progress before May, then United may well decide to replace him with somebody like Van Gaal to bring some real top class experience into the role. Do you think Louis van Gaal would be a good Manchester United manager?
