Round 4 Race Report Round 4 held at Taupo Motorsport Park was probably the hottest and hardest race meeting of the year. In qualifying on Saturday we managed to qualify p10 out of 23 and in doing so I sent a new Pb half a second quicker than I have ever been at a 1:43.5. Race 1 - In the intense heat we tried to grab a few places at the start but struggled for straight line speed getting past down the straight. To make matters worse the engine temperature was getting high, causing me to nurse the car home in 10th. Race 2 - Reverse top 10, I was starting from p1 for the 4th round in a row (I must have had the most poles so far this season...) After a poor get away I was in a hard battle for 10th, but eventually coming home in 11th. Race 3 - Handicap, the hardest race of the weekend. Starting on grid 17 I charged through the field trying to set fast consistent times and not getting held up. In the end I finished in 7th. A great achievement considering we struggle for speed down the straight and have to rely on braking and good corner speed to achieve a good lap time. Overall the weekend was a good bank of point for the overall standings and we are currently sitting 7th equal with 3 round to go.
