Route 66 trip I turned 66 last Friday so we planned a journey or short jaunt down the old concrete ribbon. We scooted through Chandler where I was born at a very young age and went to grade school. Next stop, Davenport where I went to the 5th grade and attended FBC as a kid. Brick streets and old churches. They mow their yards in town with a brush hog. On up to Stroud where we ate at the at the old Rock Cafe and took some pics of buildings we worked on as young boys helping Dad lay brick. Then to Bristow where we antique shopped and enjoyed meeting some nice folk at a garage sale. Yes, we stopped at at a yard sale and found a bargain. Sapulpa was the next place to stroll down to the specialty shops and share a Rt. 66 big orange soda pop. Many places closed early due to the 4th but we found a few things to bring back. Now, in Tulsa, Mexican food, a swim, hunt for small flags and chill out. Rt. 66 is back in time. Tomorrow, Almish stores and hopefully some homemade chow-chow. Getting our kicks on Rt. 66 now that I am 66. Br. Larry
