Rubio cant make weight, fight will go on!!!!!!!!!!! Promoter Tom Loeffler has just announced that WBC interim middleweight champion Marco Antonio Rubio failed to make weight for Saturday’s clash against WBA champion Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. Loeffler said Rubio will be fined $50,000 per pound over limit, a $100,000 overall purse penalty, but Rubio does not have cut the weight. Rubio lost his WBC interim belt at the scale at 161.8 and failed to make weight in the allotted two hours. Golovkin can still add the green belt to his WBA and IBO belts with a victory.
