Runners, The dust has settled from this mornings race registration and we wanted to share a few thoughts with everyone. First, thank you. While many of you ran into some frustrations with registration, this race did not exist 8 days ago and in one weeks time, the community got behind this stronger than we could have ever imagined. Thank you for your patience and supporting this ambitious vision. Second, we are sorry for any frustrations people had this morning. We got a lot of great feedback from people and we can promise that everything we learned today will be poured into the knowledge bank for next years registration. First year races are very difficult to predict registration totals for because they dont have previous years data to go off of. When we approached people behind the scenes over the last 6 months about putting on a road race in the city that didnt have color dye, zombies, or glow sticks, we were laughed at for thinking 3,000 people would sign up in the first year for a traditional road race. With the benefit of hindsight we now know that not only did we get 3,000 but could have potentially tripled that number. We are sorry for the frustrations from this morning for those who did not get in but to the 3,000 people who were able to register… Start training because were going to work our butts off for the next 4 months to put on one of the best races Philadelphia has ever seen. -Philadelphia Runner & The Philly 10K
