SALUTE TO A WORKAHOLIC Upon a recent trip to the HEARTLAND city, i travelled to the interiors to have a strong conviction that what ive seen in Owerri (capital city) were not a mere white elephant projects as those we have at home (West) i stopped at umuagwo, obinze,irete, mbaise, mbaino, awommama, orlu, okigwe, all in imo state,the people and the work on the ground all attest to the giant strides of Gov. Rochas Anayo Owelle OKOROCHA, A chat with an artisan (name witheld) at okigwe town foregrounds the govt policies and programmes as massies centred. Before now, ive argued that free tertiary education is unimaginable in a country like ours, No small thanks to Anabel Nwogu a student of imo poly who confided in us by saying all imo indigenes in the state tertiary institutions enjoy a tuition free Education, How? I thundered; ask Mr. Gov was her response, because it sound almost elusive and strange to hearing, the adventure took me straight to Umunama, a village whose name rings bell among the Gbades, here the observations were stated in the obvious, imagine driving on a Nigerian road for over 4km without marching brake? Haahahah (na only me advise myself oo)... Another state in 9ja where ive had such a sweet sensational experience is in the state of the Virtuos (Osun), atleast ive been there so I know what im saying. In short the roads leading and within umunama are state of the earth facility. A look at a community school (pry) reminds of a one time most hyped and medially celebrated mega school (sec) can u remember? St. Finbars pry school Umunama is thrice the much celebrated so called maga school in terms of physical structures and educational equipments, imo workers esp teachers are happy doing there works with mouth watering incentives compare to home state where workers were once threatened with pry six leaving cert as if the olori oko himself can produce one if not for the power of incumbency. Back in Owerri, the sight of greater imo, a multi billion naira project capable of housing a world conference with ease with a state of the earth facilities indicates a mind who is developmentally conscious, i wondered the rationale behind such project when my spirit man reminds me of foreign investors attractions which is sine-qua-none to developing the economy at the same time creating jobs for the barriage of unemployed in the state. According to national statistics on employment, within the space of 3 and half years, over 40,000 imo indigenes had secured employment into the state civil service.... Yeeparipa....., when at home, the doors of employment had been shut since the exit of gov. Agagu (heart bleeds). The people of the state are very happy for such a working gov, little wonder why the bible said if the righteous is enthroned the people rejoices i cant exhaust all the monumental achievements of Gov. Rochas okorocha within the little time he had spent in office because of its enormousity. No doubt hes the best performing gov in east. He has no long fleet of prado jeeps as convoy like his broda in Gods own state, no office of the first son, as in Abia state, the govt is active compare to the nadir nature of governance in the enyimba and Ebonyi states. Hahahahaha. There is God oooo. Persons like us will always commend any public servant who is using the peoples mandate for the peoples need. This post is purely apolitical.
