SATURDAY OCTOBER 18, 2014 JESUS CHRIST HAD A PHILOSOPHY OF IMPACT Part I Acts 10:38 says “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” The scripture above summarizes the life of Jesus on earth! Apostle Peter, who preached to Cornelius and the crowd that had gathered in Cornelius’ house to hear the word of God, was with Jesus for 3½ years. Peter was with Jesus when Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding in Cana in Galilee! He was with Jesus when blind Bartimeus received his sight! He was with Jesus when Peter’s own mother-in-law was instantly healed of fever! He was with Jesus when He preached scary messages warning the Pharisees and Sadducees! Peter was with Jesus when he fed the 5,000; he was with Jesus when He stilled the storm and he was even the one who was invited by Jesus to walk on water! Apostle Peter would never have counted himself as a candidate for the priesthood at all; he was a hard, boisterous unbelieving and questioning fisherman! But, the impactful life of Jesus changed Peter and made him soft enough to be moulded and formed into what God wanted him to be. While Jesus was on earth, the Bible records in Matthew 9:35-38 “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.” Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.” PRAYER:Lord, open our eyes to see the need around us and give us the enablement to do something to address the need, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. ONE YEAR BIBLE PLAN: Isaiah 65-66; 2 Thessalonians 1
