SECURITY ALERT ON INSURGENTS NEW ATTACK STRATEGY. Intelligent reports from Government security agencies revealed that Boko Haram insurgents are making plans to hijack petrol tankers, plant explosives inside and drive such truck to crowded areas to unleash terror on innocent citizens in the Country with Abuja as the main target and this can also be carried out in other major cities in the Country. In this vein, Government security agents are working in collaboration with Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association to ensure that any tanker hijacked are reported immediately for retrieval. Therefore, it is important to take note of the following security tips: 1. Be alert to surroundings, environment and increase awareness when a tanker truck is spotted driving dangerously. 2. Report suspicious movements, prolonged broken down/abandoned tanker and other vehicles in vicinity to security. 3. Crowded areas should be avoided with minimum time spent in shopping malls, parks and market places. 4. Keep a safe distance from petroleum tankers as much possible while on the highway. The advice is not exhaustive and remember that the real motive of the Boko Haram insurgents remain unknown, but they have increased their attacks with particular focus on soft targets like crowded areas where heavy casualties are recorded. Always remain vigilant, share the above with other colleagues, family members and loved ones because security is everybodys business.
