SEEKING TRUTH Truth is a rare and fragile thing. If you twist it, bend it or stretch it - it is destroyed. Truth is easy to ignore – people choose not to see it or pretend it’s not there all the time. Truth is polite – it stands knocking at the entrance, never forcing its way in or pushing down the door. Truth is weak – it is easily trampled underfoot, easily shouted down and easily cast aside. Truth is easy to fake – people pass off and accept counterfeits in its place all the time, imaging they have the truth. Truth will not force its way against deception or error; people are perfectly free to cling to their delusions. Real, actual truth can always afford to be examined; it can stand up to an honest examination. People are reluctant to honestly scutinize “truth” or reality once they have accepted it, maybe they fear being found wrong. They get attached to a concept or idea and are very hesitant to later look at it in an unbiased fashion. Look at denominations and political beliefs – once people “marry” them they hardly ever divorce! Millions of them have to be incorrect – yet how few are searching to verify that their positions are really accurate. Is anything easier than brainwashing humans? Once they get an idea in their head will they ever be teachable again? How few people ever really honestly search for the truth, no matter where it takes them! October 19, 2013
