SERIKALI SAIDIA~MANNA FROM HEAVEN? No government on planet earth can solve each and every of their citizens problems. Youve got to use your God-given brains. And no government can employ all its citizens. I used to work hard to earn a living before March 4th poll, I voted for the Jubilee government. The ascension of jubilee government to power did not in anyway signal the end of my problems, financial or otherwise. Therere those of us who sit idle waiting for the government to solve every problem for them, feed them, build a House for them. It doesnt matter whos in power, you still got to work for your money, nothing is free even in the so-called developed world. The government can and should only provide an enabling an enabling environment for its citizenry to earn a living and create wealth and reducing the cost of doing business by lowering interest rates, And this the government does by providing security, giving incentives to investors, lowering the cost of legal requirements for starting a business, etc. Therere those who get excited every election season thinking voting in such and such person will miraculously eliminate their problems.Theres no manna from heaven anymore; Youve got to think, youve got to be creative, youve got to generate ideas and implement them. So if youre the kind that sits lazy and idle and then blame the government for your predicament, be sure youre yet to see the worst of it and should brace yourself for even tougher times ahead, irrespective of whos in power. Every election season, politicians electrify crowds with all promises to an extent that some of us think our lives will be transformed overnight after the new government is sworn in.
