SHARING MY SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY STORY While I was standing - TopicsExpress

SHARING MY SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY STORY While I was standing in my kitchen labeling products I was thinking about my uncle Joe, may he RIP... Yes, this is a little personal, but what the heck, Im a share it kinda girl with my closest friends and I have 2402 of you to share with... Hee Hee! When I was a little girl my uncle Joe (my dads sisters husband) owned his own business, it was called Joes Grocery & Ice a convenience store located in San Angelo, Texas. We used to visit them often and I remember hanging out at the store with him, (I always got to get to sit on a barstool behind the counter and eat free candy) and watch him interact with his customers and he shared so much with them and they shared so much back, it was like a little additional family we had. Not just business as usual, but stories and laughter. He got to know them (the regulars) on a personal basis. He was a hard working man for his family, worked every single day long hours. I cant help but believe I learned my business ethics from my family, they were ALL hard working people and it makes me proud to do what am able to accomplish within my own small business. So, I just want to say thank you for letting me get to know you and for you letting me share a bit of myself with you. We all have stories to share, we just need friends to share them with. That is why supporting small businesses gives you peace of mind and a feel of belonging to a secondary family other than your own. We dont get that from huge commercial businesses. We get that from our local small business. Thank you for letting me share with you, my memories and thoughts, its not always about posting a picture of a product for sale.
