SHOFARDEVOTION 19-08-2014 #INSTRUCTION IN THE INHERITANCE Inheritance gets squandered in the hands of a child; an immature Christian. This is what happens to the prodigal son. The heir as long as he is a child differs nothing from a servant though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father[Gal 4:1-2]. Teaching and instruction precedes the appointment and primarily, the instruction is as to the true substance of the inheritance. The mistake of the prodigal son was in thinking that his inheritance were the riches entrusted to him. The portion to the Christian was Jehovah God; this is the inheritance incorruptible, undefiled and that fadeth not away[1 Peter 1:4]. Before a child of God seeks to fly, he ought to understand the annointing which is the wings by which he soars. Before a child of God seeks to build the house of God, he ought to understand the God of the house. He will not end up feeding with swine.
