SNEAK PEEK at MY DRAGON MASTERS (heres a look into the mind of the villain, FYI he creeps me out the closer I get to the end of the book) ___________________________ PROLOGUE XERXES Breaking things was my favorite pastime. It helped relieve the pent up anger that boiled inside me like a magma deep beneath the earth’s crust, bound to erupt from time to time. After thousands of years, I still wanted only wanted one thing. To rule all the Veil and Earth. To be King. *** My feet made a lovely crunching sound on the gravel as I walked. It reminded me of bones breaking beneath my paws in battles past. I missed those days. They were simpler. Kill or be killed. Winner takes everything. Time had given the weak the ability to be strong in a very annoying way. In the past it would have been easy to pit humans against each other and wipe entire tribes or countries from the face of the earth. Now the human political game had to be played or the pathetic race might blow us all to hell and both worlds right along with it. It had already halfway gone to shit when that stupid drug came out and exposed a half dozen supernatural races. Now we had to be even more careful. We weren’t worshiped or revered any longer, either. Instead, we were forced to hide our strengths and operate from the depths of the shadows.
