SOOOOooooooo. Newly rebuilt and upgraded trans took a dump and currently mulling over options on what to do. (seal may have failed and I didnt catch it early enough before it did severe damage to my 6 spd) 6 spd recently has hardened OS and Rays Bellhousing brace welded in - Id prefer not to sell but its an option. My options - rebuild the 6 spd with oem parts AGAIN and hope for better luck - sure to be pricey - certain special shop is still looking for donor trans to use as a guinea pigs for their hardened and faceplated gearsets - removes synchros and simplifies system, allows for high rpm shifting - stronger gear replacement mean for big abuse - I would get a special low price for being a sacrificial lamb but would come out cheaper than a normal rebuild with stronger race grade parts - sell the 6 spd and clutch and convert to drag prepped awd auto and wire in a sequential paddle shift system to control TCU shifting at the track - cheaper to convert to than a full getrag rebuild and 9/10 times faster at a strip due to consistency and shift speed unless you REALLY have the driver mod down, and even then its damn near impossible to beat its raw shift speed. Thoughts?
