SP-282 Sawyer Filter f Bangladesh We’ve made it as simple as it gets. No more digging wells if there is a water source, no constructing sand filters, and no more purification chemicals. No one has to boil their water to make it safe ever again. Families are able to hook up their filter literally in minutes to almost any locally found container. The gravity-operated filter and fast flow rate mean anyone, anywhere can have clean water in a matter of seconds. The kit includes everything you need to attach the filter to a water faucet or any plastic bucket or container.Just 4-inches long and less than 8 ounces, the Sawyer Pointone can deliver 1 liter of clean water in 60 seconds. 1. To use with water faucet, attached the faucet adapter to the faucet and you’re ready to go! Or to use with a bucket… 2. Obtain a clean bucket or plastic container 3. Use the drill bit to make a hole 1.5 inches from the bottom of the bucket (you can do this by hand). 4. Screw the connector, hose and filter onto the bucket. 5. Fill the bucket with water from any source, lower the filter head below the water line, and let gravity do the rest. Fast Flow This is a POINT OF USE SYSTEM. Since there is such a high flow rate, this eliminates the need to store water which reduces the chances of water being contaminated after it is filtered. The only external force required for the system to function is GRAVITY. The flow rate of a filter is determined by a combination of: • Head pressure (The distance from the top of the water to the filter) • Altitude (The higher the altitude, the slower the flow rate) • How clean the filter is • The filter itself (there are slight variations between filters) Long Lasting Maintenance of this filter is very simple. When the filter starts to slow down or clog, simply back wash it with clean water using the syringe provided in the kit. Since the filters can continuously be backwashed and re-used, they have an extremely long life expectancy. The ease of operating this system makes it self-sustainable and dependable. Multiple Applications Sawyer filters and purifiers make water so clean and accessible that people will not only use the filtered/purified water for drinking, but also for cleaning, bathing, cooking, watering plants and more. Sawyer filters offer a fast, efficient and sustainable solution to clean water in the event of a natural disaster. No electricity, chemicals or technical training is required. Not only will these filters provide immediate relief after the disaster, the filters will still be functioning years and years down the road. Great for emergency preparedness kits, The Filter gives you the ability to use the Sawyer PointONE™ 0.10 Absolute Micron Water Filter attached to a standard 20 liters bucket. The “build your own gravity system” can yield over 1800 liters of clean water per day from any fresh water source. 1 - Sawyer 0.1 Absolute Micron Hollow Fiber Membrane Filter 1 – Hose 1 – Hole Cutter 1 – O-ring for bucket adapter 1 – Filter tip cap 1 – Filter Hanger 1 – Faucet 1 – Cleaning Syringe 1 – Backwash instruction sticker for the bucket 1 – Detailed Instruction Sheet *Bucket Not Included Life Expectancy: More than 3 Million Liters. The Nanotechnology which is derived from kidney dialysis is the next great leap in water-filtration system. The hollow-fiber membrane is One of the latest revolutionary development in water filter technology. Since its founding, SAWYER’s water filter products have been incorporated and developed the water purification systems both for individual, household and commercial applications. Hollow-fiber membranes are micro-thin tubules with porous walls. The tubules (fibers) are about 1mm thick. The pores that allow water to flow through the fibers are approx. 0.1 & 0.02 micrometer wide, which is about 600-800 times thinner than a human hair, too small for even the tiniest impurities to pass through. In order to improve both the filtration rates and longevity of the filter, Sawyer developed a technology which makes the hollow fiber membrane is something even more precise and rugged. The fiber composition had to deliver exactly 0.1 & 0.02 micron filtration 100% of the time to ensure no bacteria would get through, and the membranes had to be sturdy enough to withstand backwashing which allows the filter to be cleaning and reused. Sawyer’s Hollow Fiber Membrane filters are small, portable, easy-to-use, reliable, inexpensive, and can last more than a decade without needing to be replaced. The proprietary water filters are comprised of tiny “U” shaped micro-tubes that allow water to enter into their core through tiny micro-pores. The high number of those tiny tubes and their surface area allows the filter to have one of the fastest flow rates in the world. This high flow rate eliminates the need to store water, reducing the possibility of water contamination after the filtration process. Each filter is certified for ABSOLUTE microns; that means there is no pore size larger than 0.1 or 0.02 micron in size. This makes it impossible for harmful bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E. coli, Giradia, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi (which cause Cholera and Typhoid) to pass through the Sawyer PointONE™ biological filter. At 7 log (99.99999%) the filter attains the highest level of filtration available today. If viruses are an issue, we offer the Point ZeroTWO Purifier (0.02 micron absolute pores), the first and thus far only portable purification device to physically remove viruses, which it does at a >5.5 log (99.9997%) rate, exceeding EPA and NSF recommendations. All Sawyer filters have been tested by independent and qualified research laboratories according to U.S. EPA standards for water filters, and meet or exceed EPA standards. Sawyer’s revolutionary technology has also been tested and verified by the United Nations, and is currently being used in more than 70 countries around the world. • No need for chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, disinfectants, pH adjustment). • Filtration of all mechanical impurities (clay, sand, rust) larger than 0.1 micron. Removal of these impurities, including colloidal iron particles, produces perfectly clear water. Water that has gone through a hollow-fiber membrane tastes and smells better, but most importantly, is significantly safer for human consumption. Certain small-particle pollutants, for example iron hydroxides, can irritate the epithelial wall of the intestines and bring about a range of digestive dysfunctions. • Filtration of microorganisms and bacteria. It’s practically impossible to reduce the pore size in conventional filters (polypropylene or carbon-block cartridges) below 0.7- 0.8 microns. This is not sufficient to reliably filter out harmful bacteria, E. coli, for example, is between 0.3 x 1 and 1 x 6 microns in size, while Staph. aureus has a diameter of 0.5-1 microns. • Filtration of Giardia cysts. The “cyst” form of Giardia is something like a cocoon, resistant to external factors, including most bactericides. Most household filters have no reliable anti-Giardia capability. The most effective method of removing Giardia cysts from drinking water is mechanical filtration through a hollow-fiber membrane. • Constant quality of the treated water in terms of particle and microbial removal. • Process and plant compactness • Environmentally sound production. Hollow-fiber membranes are made without the use of solvents. • Non-reactive materials • A huge filtering surface in a small volume of space * Filter does not remove dissolved solids, including chemicals and heavy metals.
