SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE AUSTIN/GRACE AJAJA FOUNDATION................................... Inauguration of the Committee for the Award of writing scholarship for Abavos best writers in 2015. Towards the end of 2014, I announced a plan to award N100,000 (One hundred thousand Naira) each to two Abavos outstanding writers in 2015 to promote the art of expression through writing for young Abavo citizens who are currently enrolled in institutions of Higher learning. Due to increasing demands for my attention by a lot of issues which some of you who work closely with me are aware of, we could not immediately constitute the committee needed for the smooth planning and execution of our action plan towards a successful conduct and award of the prizes to the would be winners. The Scholarship would be awarded in two categories; 1. Writing for Change: the Abavo example: All Abavo students regardless of disciplines are qualified to apply. 2. A Nurse as an agent of change: I am doing this particular one to give back to my original profession and to promote the study of Nursing by young Abavo people, with an understanding that Nursing is not for unintelligent people and those who could not secure admission into other institutions of higher learning as was once postulated by the ignorant in the past. Nursing is a pure human science needing the best brains, the best hands and the best hearts. I am proudly a testimony and I am so proud to be a nurse. Prince Emmanuel Ekhator is a nurse too.... I am happy today to announce the following great Abavo people and one man from Owa as members of the committe to assist my family led by Professor Patrick Osawaru Ajaja to make the 2015 edition of the AUSTIN/GRACE AJAJA SCHOLARSHIP AWARD an inaugural success. 2. Barrister James Okoh Olokor 2. Mr. Amaechi Onwuemerie (President Abavo Clan Union) 3. Mr. Emmanuel Adukpe 4. Mr. Jonathan Ohioya Agbejiagwe Jonathan 5. Miss Mercy Omiken Isuwa ( Current MISS IKA) 6. Mr. Victor Obianke Richard Victor 7. Mr. Warren G. Ijebor (Abavo youths President. 8. Friday Olokor (Punch Newspapers) These distinguished lady and gentlemen are to decide who chairs the committee and they are to report their recommendations to Professor Patrick Ajaja when they decide the way forward. Will send phone numbers of all the committee members via a secure email to all those concerned. I appreciate the patience of everyone and look forward to hearing a success story. God bless you all........
