SRINAGAR: State’s largest religo-political party Jamaat-e-Islami has asked the people to remain aware of the CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami. Jamaat senior leader and its spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali blamed Tarigami for engineering the killing of hundreds of Jamaat leaders and workers. “It is Yousuf ‘comrade’ Tarigami at whose behest the Indian army and other security agencies murdered hundreds of Jamaat Islami innocent leaders and workers as an expression of hate against Islam which is the main agenda of every Marxist communist. We should not make these enemies our friends. Be aware of them,” Ali wrote on his Facebook wall. Demanding stern action against Tarigami and his workers, Zahid Ali posted on his Facebook wall that CPI (M) goons have unleashed a reign of terror and attacked many residential houses of belonging to the associates of Jamaat-e-Islami. “Yousuf comrade is the person at whose instigation hundreds of Jamaat leaders and workers were murdered in cold blood at the hands of the Indian security forces and government sponsored gunmen. Jamaat Islami associates should strongly protest against this highhandedness and misuse of power by the communist goons,” Ali post further reads. “While passing through Sonegam village in a procession celebrating Comrade “Youzuf Tarigamis” win in the elections when they were asked to stop demonstrating vulgarity by the local people. They attacked many residential houses belonging to the associates of Jamaat Islami J and K without any reason or justification and smashed the window panes, ruthlessly beat the house dwellers injuring a young woman seriously who is admitted in a hospital,” Ali posted on Facebook. When contacted, Zahid Ali said they didn’t issuean official statement over it as they thought it would create trouble in the state. “I preferred to write it on the Facebook to inform people about these communist people and their real face. It was an organised attack by the Communists upon the associates of Jamaat Islami,” he told Kashmir Monitor. He said it was regrettable that police instead of taking any action against the “unruly goons” arrested the father of the injured who was later released on the intervention of a local Jamaat leader. Ali has further written that Jamaat Islami has totally stayed away from the poll process. “These are very goons who burnt down the property of Jamaat people in April 1979 when Pakistan former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was executed in Pakistan,” he said. Impressing upon Police to be impartial and not allow these anti-Islamic forces to cause disturbance to the public peace and tranquility, Ali demanded immediate arrest of the communist “lawless culprits and a stern action against them”.
