STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS IS NOT A TOURISM OR FASHION PARADE - TopicsExpress

STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS IS NOT A TOURISM OR FASHION PARADE EVENT BUT THE RECLAIM OF THE DIGNITY OF THE NATION THROUGH ACCOUNTABILITY. We are living in the Democratic state, we are required to uphold our democratic values and principles or pillars since they define our democratic state. The following are the fundamental pillars of our democracy and they are: 1. The Rule of Law – Supremacy of the Constitution 2. Electoral system 3. Multiparty democratic system 4. Doctrine of the separation of powers a. Legislature (Parliament where laws and policies are made) b. Executive (Where laws and policies are executed) c. Judicially ( Where our laws and policies are tested their consistency with the constitution defended or reviewed) These principles are underpinned by the following values 1. Equality 2. Accountability 3. Transparency 4. Tolerance The state of the nation address is not excused from the consistency to the principles and values of our own constitution, the state of the nation address signifies the ACCOUNTABILITY of our own LEGISLATURE AND EXECUTIVE to the nation as required by our own constitution. The delivery of SONA is not a favour but a constitutional imperative and obligation to account to the people. WHY WE MUST LOOK FORWARD TO THE SONA? 1. There has been various developments in the country in number of aspects, amongst is the Amendments of our LRA which is the step in the right direction but still leaves much to be desired, we welcome the additional scope to the CCMA, the amendment of organisational rights and the regulations of employment agents (Labour brokers) but we maintain a view that they must be BANNED TOTALLY. 2. We know that the PROJECT OF PETRO SA which is supposedly implemented in Port Elizabeth COEGA 2011 has been delayed out of greed. The Mossel Bay based PETRO SA has long indicated capacity constraints and the consequential effect of oil spilt in the sea (Mosely /Western cape) and hence the expansion to the Eastern Cape (Nelson Mandela Coega) as the reasonable distance with minimal cost. The project was delayed because KZN (Richards Bay) demanded to relocate the project in their own Richards Bay in an effort to outshine any other Province and make KZN the Johannesburg at all cost. This is despite the indication by PETRO SA that the cost will escalate and triple but the STATE committed to subsidize the extra cost. Further, this is despite the fact that the KZN Richards bay does not have a site like COEGA designated for the project but the STATE has decided that to make the designation, it would remove a well-established residential area of people which have been in the area for years with heritage and cemetery for the convenience of greed. The state does not give a damn of the unnecessarily cost that it would incur as the result of the JACKIE CHAN manoeuvre. So far we must appreciate the contingency of LABOUR in NEDLAC as led by NUMSA and VAVI where they managed to stop this ill-informed JACKIE CHAN manoeuvre and committed to challenge it in court and hence the delay. The labour in this regard has been of great assistance since the STATE had even co-opted the Eastern Cape government leadership under the watch of Ms Noxololo Kiviet and Mr Mcebisi Jonas who was later rewarded by the position of Deputy Minister in Finance. WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY AT ITS BEST!!! 3. The Head of State as the Head of Legislature and Head of Executive have a duty to defend the constitution of the country. We are taking tune from the fundamentals of our own democracy, the PUBLIC PROTECTOR as the chapter 9 institution is independent from interference and it remains part of the executive in executing the policies, rules and law as set up by the legislature and all people are required to observe the laws, policies and rules without fear or favour. The Nkandla gates SAGA has tested to the limit the HEAD OF STATE, HEAD OF LEGISLATURE AND HEAD OF EXECUTIVE his consistency in observing the rule of law or the SUPREMECY OF OUR CONSTITUTION. We all have a duty to respect the OFFICES SET UP (Chapter 9) BY OUR OWN CONSTITUTION. The state should by now been employing financial evaluators to determine the portion that the Head of State should be paying on the Nkandla gate SAGA. Suppose there was no corruption but a genuine error or mistake, well now you are raised to the mistake please rectify it. PAY BACK THE MONEY. 4. We woke up one day invaded in our own country by a group of unaccredited fellows in our own country landing in our sacred place as the state coming from INDIA because their friend in SOUTH AFRICA is a friend with the HEAD OF STATE the number 1. It could have been terrorists like BOKO HARAM coming to steal any of our women including BALEKA MBETHE in the name of nepotic favours and greed that has been slipped under the carpet. Our Constitution commits the state to the security of our people at all costs and minimise all threats against our people. Further maintain our sovereignty as the REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA. We are now compromised by one man related to the Indian fellows, first it was SCHAIBIR SCHAIK and now it is the group of GUPTA’s in and outside South Africa. 5. Lastly the HEAD OF STATE has not attended the parliament for the past 7 months contravening the duty to account in parlament but he is ready to account to the nation. WHO HAS TESTED YOUR ACCOUNT because the nation has delegated powers into parlament to do CHECK AND BALANCE ON ITS BEHALF? Running away from parliament and ready yourself to charm your way through in the nation is POPULISTIC and should be condemned by all people. WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY AS THE DEMOCRATIC IMPERATIVE, PRINCIPLE AND VALUE OF OUR DEMOCRACY. We must be told if Democracy has become heavy in our shoulders to comply with, some of us will be watching SONA in anticipation of the account that would reflect ion the above. Amandla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
