STAURDAYS FORECAST: Today will see a mix of cloud and sunshine. Max temperature of 8C but feeling much cooler in the moderate westerly wind which will ease and back SW later. Very slight chance of a short passing shower, but overall dry. Cloudy Saturday night with minimum temperature of 6C. SUNDAY: A cloudy day with some light rain at times. Winds increasing during the day. Mild with max temp of 12C. MONDAY: A wet day but mild again at 11C. Winds will ease off in the morning. The rain will continue into Monday night and it will be heavy at times. TUESDAY: Any overnight rain will clear early and the rest of the day will be cloudy but mostly dry. Winds will be light from the west. Feeling cooler as temperatures reach 8C. Frost expected Tuesday night. CHRISTMAS EVE: Mostly dry with some good sunshine. A few showers possible and these could be wintry over the mountains. Quite a brisk westerly breeze making it feel cooler than the 5C on the thermometer. CHRISTMAS DAY: I expect a similar day to Christmas Eve, a few showers and about 5C. A few people have been messaging me about this arctic cold that is supposed to be arriving at Christmas. FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, THE ACCURATE RANGE OF MODERN WEATHER FORECASTING IS 5 DAYS, OCCASIONALLY OUT TO 1 WEEK. St Stephens Day is looking cold, but these tabloid and social media headlines are purely to grab attention and increase sales and likes. Last week the media was full of a weather bomb causing chaos followed by snow! I hope you all survived it! ;-) Look back on this page and I forecast it would be windy with snow above 400m. Apologies about the rant but I so wish people would ignore these silly headlines.
