STILL NO HEAT IN SIGHT...NEXT 7-10 DAYS TEMPS REMAIN AT OR BELOW AVERAGE...STILL NO 90-DEGREE DAYS IN SIGHT There are some rumors (and even initially some computer model support for) a decent shot of hot weather coming to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US for the end of August. But frankly, I dont see any more support for that idea. In fact, the latest European computer model(which I believe to be correct in this case and is most accurate in many cases) suggests highs in the upper 70s and low 80s most of next week with repeated chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Forget about 90...I just dont see it over the next 7-10 days. After that, its the last week of August and the week before Labor Day, and the unofficial end to one of the most comfortable summers weve seen in quite awhile. September may end up warmer than average, but thats another forecast for another day... I do think it will turn more humid next week, as this shot of pure fallish almost late September like air yields to a stickier airmass that will help fuel our rain chances next week. So the nights will be milder and muggier next week, but while humid, I dont think the days will be all that hot. This Sunday is likely the warmest day of the forecast, and well top out in the mid 80s shore and mainland alike, and have but one day with above average temps in an otherwise at or below average forecast temperature-wise.
