*** STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: ROWENA SINGER *** The writing courses taught me how to read critically - to explore different genres (fiction, nonfiction, and poetry) - and to generate original work. After graduating from the Post-Baccalaureate Program with distinction this year, Rowena was recently inducted into the low-residency MFA Program at Bennington College. She began the Post-Bacc series to explore the world of writing, later deciding to commit herself to her art and pursue an MFA. The stories I generated became the basis for my manuscript submission; the critical assessments prepared me for my application; the books I read turned into an impressive reading list that I could refer to. Having been in touch with Rowena throughout the sequence, both by phone and by listening to her work at our student readings, we know she has a bright, full future up ahead. We wish her the best as she embarks on the next segment of her writing path!
