SUCCESS STORY: MICKEY Mickey is a sweet little Corgi cross - a friendlier, pluckier fellow you will not find! Mickey originally came to us several years ago, as a rescue from the pound in Mount Pearl - he hadnt been claimed by his owner, and his number was about to be up. . . We found him a foster home that soon turned into an adoptive home (Mickey is very easy to fall in love with!). Sadly, Mickeys adoptive mom had to bring him back to us last autumn for personal reasons. She, of course, wanted dear Mickey to find an exceptionally good home, and we promised he would. We were fortunate to find that home quickly. A lovely couple who are avid walkers - perfect for a dog - applied for Mickey, were approved, and then took him on a trial adoption. It wasnt long before they made Mickey a permanent member of their family. Mickey has made lots of new friends, and is a fixture on the trails by their home, as he and family go exploring together. Mickey and his family celebrated his Gotcha Day last week, and they sent us the below note They write: Yesterday was the anniversary of Mickeys arrival in our household. We declared it Mickeys birthday. He received a couple of new toys and lots of home made dog biscuits. He is doing really well and has made friends all over town. Thank you for arranging the adoption. We will be sending you a cheque for $250 for your wonderful work.
