SUMMER 2014 DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONS - GERIATRICOS !!!!!! An almost faultless season continued last Thursday as the Geriatricos beat Moves Like Agger 6-1 to claim the title of champions, goals came from Wayne Croucher (1) and Aaron Blakemore (5) taking his personal tally to 100 for the team. A good, solid, if unspectacular performance but a great result which means the boys (who have an average age of 34) have overcome a league full of younger players to emerge victorious. Maybe sometimes a good oldun can beat a good youngun………Another interesting statistic is that our team of mature gentlemen have scored more goals than anyone in the entire league across all divisions!!!! There is one more match to go in the current season but Geriatricos have an unassailable lead and cannot be caught, however they will be going in all guns blazing tomorrow as they look to go the entire season undefeated. The final game of the season is an 8.40 kick off against Moves Like Agger again.Trophy presentation (see pic below) to be next week (18th Sept) Time to be confirmed. All welcome……..
