SUPER MARIO!!!! An update on our BADLY injured friend, Mario! He is safely and happily chilling at The Cat Clinic of Roswell, where he is winning hearts right and left. The staff says he has a SUPER friendly PURRsonality! Look how much better he feels, after some well-deserved TLC! His initial bloodwork indicated that Mario had contracted FeLV, also known as feline leukemia (this is not an accurate description of the condition, which is an immune deficiency). We are waiting for the results of a specialized test, which will help us determine the best course of treatment for Mario...we should have that info in a day or two. The GREAT news for now is that he is happy, and comfortable, and stable; and in the best hands! The Cat Clinic is donating his initial medical care, which is SUCH a BLESSING...but, (yes, you knew there would be a but...) Mario will always be a special-needs kitty. His medical expenses will be significant. We have a FANTASTIC foster home for him, where he will go to recover after his initial treatment; but he will need medications, nutritional supplements, and frequent check-ups throughout his life. In light of the abysmal treatment hes endured, no one would fault Mario for giving up on humans; yet he is SUPER sweet and SUPER friendly.
