SURVIVAL ON A BUDGET: This was my weekly grocery list back in 82. It was basically what I lived on my entire time in college with the exception of freshman year when I was on the infamous Howard Meal Plan. I had everything budgeted to the NICKEL. These little items cost me approximately $25/week at the Safeway on Columbia Rd. in Adams Morgan. And Lord help me if the price went up on something on my list! After all, a brother had to have SOME money leftover to go to the comic book store on Saturday! :-) 1 can of Craigmont lemonade mix 1 box of Steak-Umms 1 can of Manwich 3 cans of Hormel Chili 1 package of store brand fig bars 1 loaf of wheat bread 1 block of cheddar cheese 1 box of bacon bits 1 bottle of squeeze butter 1 Entemanns Danish coconut tea ring 1 dozen eggs 3 cans of cut green beans 1 box of Stove Top stuffing 1 jar of apple sauce
