SWEET PEA IS READY FOR A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME: Dog Trainer Jerry of Northwest K-9 Inc has completed his training with Sweet Pea. He saysI am here with Sweet Pea, and this is a quick photograph of her in a sit stay with another dog nearby. Of course just before I snapped this photo the other dog was sniffing her through the fence. She had no reaction. Ive walked around the other kennels today, and walked her back-and-forth in the play area with dogs on both sides. Shes done very well. Her staying in place with me away was very good today, for the first time. Im very pleased with her progress and feel she is ready for a home. She only weighs about 45 lbs. Jerry reports: I began with basic obedience for Sweet Pea. Her heeling was great. She will need a fair amount more work in sitting responsively when told, and remaining in place when told. I had some time in which I spent with her just sitting outside the emergency and boarding entrances. That way we got to encounter other dogs as they passed by. She remained very responsive to me, and showed no aggression towards any dog passing by. She is definitely coming along nicely in that regard when with me. The other thing I am noticing with her is that she is becoming extremely affectionate with me. She is a sweet little girl.
