Saadhvi Niranjanas use of swear word in public space causes a uproar. I dont want to discuss it wheather it was morally acceptable or not. Im interested to explore the use of expletives in public sphere as a student of linguistic. All the popular swear words used now a days in India are either arabic or persian in its origin. Important to note that all the adjectives and verbs (transitive or intransitives) uses in the strings of invectives are Gender specific. In general all Expletives in Semitic traditions (christianity, islam and judaism) are gender sensitive. In India the indigenous swear word from vernaculars connotes either caste, physical/mental disability or moral turpitude. To deconstruct the semantics of bad words used by various cultures and traditions is a subject of socio-psychologists. But for me as a student and observer it reflects the mindset and worldview of corresponding cultures.
