Sadly, Im going to have to say goodbye to Sassys limousine and the little Irish Mobs staff car. Cadillac dealership says the blown head gaskets arent fixable- its mortally wounded. New engine is 8K. More than my 14 year old car is worth. This was the most comfortable and best riding car Ive ever owned. Lots of power and 28-30mpg on the open highway. Fatal design flaw on all Cadillac Northstar engines has the head bolts strip out of the aluminum block and loosen between 100,000 & 150,000 miles due to degradation of the aluminum engine blocks threads in direct contact with the steel head bolts- blowing the head gaskets. I got 152,000 out of it, so I guess I did better than average. Driving my Moms spare car for now- a battered but good running 97 Ford Taurus until I figure out what I can replace it with on my budget. Im slumming it now. :-(
