Saints and that you put on the new man which was created according - TopicsExpress

Saints and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:24 Underline this verse. Paul told the Christians in Ephesus to put on the new man, which God created. In order to put on the new man, we have to die to the old man. We have to put the flesh to death. That is the only way the new man can be in control. There is only one way to walk in the Spirit, as a new creation in Christ. We have to pursue holiness. God wants us to be holy, to be set apart. We cannot be set apart unless we pursue the things of God, which are righteousness and holiness. At the beginning of the Book of Ephesus, Paul said he was writing to the saints. He was speaking to the Ephesian church, but he was also speaking to you and me. We are saints—I am Saint Robert. Why? The Greek word for saints in hagios, and it means “separated.” As Christians, saints, we are called to be separated from the world, separated to God. We are called to consecrate our lives to God. We are consecrated people of God. We are not the same way we used to be, but we are new men, new women, in Jesus Christ. As new men and women, created by God, we are supposed to be walking in true righteousness, not in self-righteousness, walking right and walking in consecration to God—totally separated. Think about it. We are created by God and commanded, “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). We must be saints on earth if ever we mean to be saints in heaven.
